Happy 51st Anniversary Mom and Dad!

Today is my Mom and Dad's 51st anniversary! Last year for number 50 they were still serving their mission at Martin's Cove, WY. We didn't really get to celebrate! But last night my SIL's and I went over and dec'd out the house with hearts, rose petals, candles everywhere, beautiful roses and gifts. We set the table ready for the "bought" dinner we brought in and then left them to enjoy a wonderful dinner for two!

I hope my Mom and Dad know how much I love them and appreciate the great example of a happy marriage! They have always shown how much they love each other and that is such a gift to give a child! I'm grateful for their love and support! They are the best!

Here's to the next 50 years!

Sweet Experience

Last night our family had an amazing experience.

We participated in the 1st missionary discussion for a friend of Heather's at our house.

What an amazing experience! I can't express the sweet feeling in the room and the honor I feel in being apart of this process. I just love Sophia! Whether she joins the church or not I will always love her and appreciate her friendship! She has been such a great friend to Heather and a wonderful example!

She is definitely a choice daughter of God!

The full time missionaries did such an outstanding job! They were wonderful. We have the next discussion on Tuesday! I can hardly wait!

A Perfect Love

My SIL put this on facebook today - So I am borrowing it! It seemed so perfect with the feelings I am feeling! I will miss my Uncle so much! But I'm so glad to know that I will see him again!

I love my Savior so much! I love my family - I'm so glad to know each of you!

Uncle Johnny! We Love You!

Today is a kinda sad day! Tonight my Uncle Johnny left this earth after fighting a losing battle with skin cancer.

I know a wonderful reunion took place with my Grandma and Grandpa. In that regard I'm kind of jealous. I miss my Grandma so much. (I was only 2 when my Grandpa passed away.)

I have learned so much from this sweet uncle. He was such a great example of unconditional love, he never spoke ill of others. He was the best example of forgiveness and not judging others! I will always appreciate him and I'm so glad to call him my uncle! I will miss him coming to our Moore family home evenings, trips to the cabin and Sunday visits!

He was going to help us graft different citrus to our existing trees. Now that will have to wait.

Yes, I will miss watching him play games with the family, his scout stories and his laugh. But I know he is in a better place - out of pain and suffering.

He was a good man. The best of men! We will miss you Uncle Johnny - but we will see you again!

At The End of a Perfect Day!

I was wishing I had something to blog about... and then it hit me! I DO! Today was a PERFECT DAY! Those just don't come around very often.

First - We slept in! (My favorite part!) Then Vaughan and I got up and went outside and started picking our tangerine tree. We had planned to finish picking it today. He trimmed the tree while Holli and Hope and I washed the fruit and juiced what was left. We saved some fruit to eat later and gave some to our "back fence" neighbors. (They are winter visitors and we share citrus! Us - tangerines and oranges and they - grapefruit and lemons! It's really fun!)We bring my bosch outside and juice away! It makes clean up so much easier!

After cleaning up that sticky mess I worked on my YW New Beginning invites. Vaughan mowed the lawn. (front yard) The girls decided to ride bikes - of course that meant Vaughan needed to fix tires!
While he fixed bikes I took the car and got it washed! And when I got home he finished the window and vacuumed the inside! Yeah Vaughan!It looks so nice outside! It's so fun to sit out back and enjoy the fruits of our labors! I think I'll go make my *hero* husband some dinner and watch a movie! To me it's a perfect day when you can stay home and get so much done!

American the Beautiful

For YW last night we had a patriotic evening! I have really wanted to expose the girls to flag etiquette. Sounds kinda weird I guess, but it is something I've been interested in and when I have watched the girls at camp they don't seem to know what to do with the flag at flag ceremony or when or if they are suppose to put their hands on their hearts or WHAT! I don't think our kids realize what the flag stands for and how important it really is. I'm not sure if we just have to become *old* to appreciate it or what!

So we had our patriotic evening! First Bro. Durfee had the girls take one of two "tests" to see how much they knew about flag etiquette. Apparently, we don't know as much as we think we do! Then we had a special guest - Bro Whetton who gave a really neat presentation about the American flag and how it came to look how it does now! He had about 20 flags and spent a few minutes telling us when each one and why each one was used. It was really neat.

Then Bro. Christensen from the ward spoke. He served in WWII. He said something that I really liked - it will change the way I look at the flag from now on. He said, when he sees the flag he sees it as God's Flag. Because we live in the promised land and know that God has a special purpose for our country. I really liked what he said! I will see the flag that way from now on!

Bro. Durfee then taught the girls the proper way to fold a flag. Any of the girls who wanted to came up and practiced folding the flag! Then we went over to a fire that Bro. Durfee had built and talked about retiring a flag. Bro. Durfee read a little poem about the flag and then the girls helped cut up and we retired the flag. Bro. Durfee bore his testimony about the flag, our country and what special YW the girls were and how blessed they are to be living in this country at this time and as members of the church, that they needed to raise their children to love Heavenly Father and their country.

After that we passed out marshmallows and cookies and made s'more's! It was a special evening! I hope the girls learned something and will appreciate what the flag means - and what it truly represents! I know I did!

$106.47 worth of groceries for $18.45 83% savings!!! (I didn't have coupons for the ice cream so it lowered my %! But with 3- 1/2 gallons of ice cream I still think I did pretty darn good! Why so much ice cream... you don't have a Heather in your house or you wouldn't have to ask!)

Monday - Bashas$85.57 worth of groceries for $30.14 56% savings! (not so hot! But I'm happy with it!)

Tuesday - Trip #3 & #4 Fry's

#3 $74.18 worth of groceries for $12.06 83% savings!
#4 $127.74 worth of groceries for $28.28 78% savings! This one included cookies and marshmallows for our YW activity tomorrow! But still - free deodorant, oatmeal, kleenex, & frozen veggies - Sweet!

All in all I bought $482.26 worth of groceries for $97.13. $2.87 under budget!
Using coupons makes grocery shopping so fun!! You gotta try it!!
